Selecting a growth lever

The growth levers refer to the five metrics used to track the performance of your business . These levers, also known as "Pirate metrics" are Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referrals, and Revenue

Acquisition: How do users find you? This channel is predominantly influenced by your Marketing team.
Activation: Do users have a great first experience? This channel is influenced by Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success.
Retention: Do users come back? This channel is influenced by Product, Marketing, Success, and Support.
Revenue: How to you make money? This channel is influenced by Product, Marketing, Success, and Support.
Referral: Do users tell others? This channel is influenced by Product, Success, and Support.

When creating your idea, it's important to select which areas of the business your idea impacts. If you're not sure which one to select, you can leave them out. A Growth Master or someone from the Core Growth Team will select one for you if they turn your idea into a test.
